Primary Clients, Escorts, and Special Needs

In come cases there may be more than one client in a ride. For example, perhaps a medical ride is being given to a child and a parent (who is unable to drive) accompanies the child. A young sibling might also need to come along rather than be left alone. Or perhaps, an older person may require an escort to assist him into his car or at the destination.

As highlighted in the picture below, eCoordinator provides additional columns in the list of referred and placed clients so you can easily indicate which person is the primary client for the ride, who are escorts, and who are just additional clients that are along for the ride. eCoordinator will assume that the first client that you place in the ride is the primary client. If this is not correct, just click on a different radio button in the Primary column to indicate who the primary client is.

If special needs such as a wheelchair or assistance animal have been specified in the client profile then a special needs icon that looks like a person in a wheelchair will appear for the client in the Special Needs column. Mousing over this icon will display a tool tip that lists the special needs for the client as shown below.

You can click on the special needs icon to quickly open up the special needs tab of a clients profile if you need to make changes or view more details about the clients special needs.

If the columns of information displayed in the pictures above are not available in your installation of eCoordinator contact Samaritans technical support team and they can quickly enable the additional columns for you. There are many other columns of information available in the list of referred and placed clients. Contact Samaritans technical support team if you would like to see other information displayed there or to obtain a full list of the available columns.

If you would like to see the special needs requirements of several clients all at once, click on the title of the Client Special Needs section of the ride profile to open it as shown below.

Clicking on the name of a client in this section of the ride profile will quickly open up the special needs section of that clients profile so that you can make changes or view more details about the clients special needs.
